Mini-interviews Kritika Goel

The Society MI KR 2

1.What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

My name is Kritika Goel. I am from India, and to be precise from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. I have been a member of the Theosophical Society since 2017.

2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

Yes I am pretty much active in my lodge (Prayas theosophical lodge) . I am a regular moderator and speaker in the study sessions of different groups and lodges like the young Indian theosophists group, the Indian section where I have moderated different sessions as well as I have been a speaker too. I presented as a speaker in the Indian section physical convention in the year 2022. As a young member of my lodge, I have participated in camps, workshops and also conducted study classes for our younger members.

3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

I came to know about the Theosophical Society some 13 years back through my mentor Sister Suvralina Mohanty, Since then I have been reading different books, learning from my mentor’s teachings and experiences and stories and attending meetings and camps of the TS.

4. What does Theosophy mean to you?

To be honest, Theosophy for me is answer to my questions. I don’t know how to put this but whenever I have a doubt, a query, a problem or some obstacle on my path, Theosophy always provides me an answer. It may be through some book, through some fellow theosophist or through the quotes which come up in our lodge WhatsApp group or through the camps and lectures I attend. In a nutshell, Theosophy is a way of life for someone who believes in self-review, development and service.

5. What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?

I promise by C Jinarajadasa is my all-time favorite amongst all the theosophical books I have read so far. It acts to me as a guide to conduct life better and this is a very practical book for any and every age group. This book brings new meaning every time I refer to it. It is inspiring as well as very solution centric.

6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?

The biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment could be reaching out to a wider group as compared to other organizations which aim at human reformation. However, I feel, it is not about number of people joining an organization just for the sake of joining but someone who is a serious seeker and deep thinker of Truth can only understand the deeper aspects of what Theosophy explains.

7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

I would look forward to more younger minds to join this movement to lead a selfless and non-superstitious life so that the future generation is ready to explore more and serve more. They can bring new ways and means to reach out to the masses and expand their consciousness. While we keep on talking about evolution, the real evolution will start when people realize their hidden potential and lead a fearless life.
