Mini-Interviews Nathanya Wouden

The Society MI 12 Nathanya Wouden

1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

My name is Nathanya Wouden and I live in The Hague, the Netherlands. I have been a member of the TS since September 2013.

2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

For two and a half years I’m flowing a mediation course once a month with a group of 14 people. This meditation course is based on the Meditation Diagram of Madam H. P. Blavatsky. I also help with the web shop by uploading books for our online catalogue. I was active at the International Theosophical Centre Naarden (TS-Asyar) last summer and participated in the events commission together with the International Theosophical Centre (ITC) which was a pleasant experience because of the many contacts with different people from other countries.

3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

I became interested in esotericism at the age of twenty and then I just encountered the right book and the right people at the right time which lead me to the TS. The first Theosophical book I encountered was Isis Unveiled.

4. What does Theosophy mean to you?

For me, it means to become the path itself.

5. What is your favourite Theosophical book and why?

For now, At the feet of the Master by J. Krishnamurti (Alcyone) because it gives me the practical steps how to act consciously in today’s society. There is much going on in our world and sometimes I need a little help to get up and move forward, physically and mentally.

6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?

I think the biggest challenge at this moment is to reach out to the new generation and how to show them the existence of Theosophy.

7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

I wish that the Theosophical movement will stay, no matter what happens.
